IRVINE, Calif. — April 7, 2008 — At the 2008 NAB Show in Las Vegas this month, Fast Forward Video (FFV) will introduce eClips, a cost-effective and easy-to-use digital video recorder (DVR) for live broadcast production. In a single compact package, eClips gives broadcasters and cable providers instant, on-the-fly access to video still/clip stores, animated graphics, and audio clips for enhancing live news, sports, and educational programs.
Available for either SD or HD (SDI) broadcasts, eClips provides large touch-screen controls for unprecedented ease of use. Producers can ingest video in real time or download video files from standard formats, such as AVI, and then generate playlists either manually or from the system's powerful library database. At ingest, producers can capture a visual thumbnail from any frame within the clip to make the thumbnail more descriptive and easier to identify.
During the live production, the producer can automatically run the entire playlist nonstop or play out random clips simply by touching their thumbnails on the screen. In addition, eClips' frame-accurate video trim editor enables producers to trim clips on the fly to ensure that they fit the required time segment, and to build simple transitions between clips.
"eClips is an ideal solution for local TV stations, corporate A/V producers, and other organizations that might not have the need or the resources for a full production switcher or large-scale broadcast automation system," said Hal J. Reisiger, president and CEO of Fast Forward Video. "It is also ideal for staging and rental companies that produce live events and need an easy and cost-effective way to build broadcast-quality production values into their shows."
FFV, a recognized innovator of DVR technology for broadcast, industrial video, presentation, and military applications, will demonstrate eClips and the company's other industry-leading DVR solutions at its NAB booth, N2519.
