FFV Announces New Multi-Use Xi Deck to Replace Tape-Based Recording Devices

IRVINE, Calif. — May 9, 2007— Fast Forward Video Inc. (FFV), a recognized innovator of digital video recorder (DVR) technology for broadcast, industrial video, presentation, and military applications, today announced the release of its new multi-use DVR, the Xi deck. With its intuitive controls and wide array of options, the Xi is designed to deliver high-quality digital recording in a cost-effective solution. An ideal replacement for analog tape decks in broadcast and film production applications, the Xi is a powerful combination of performance, reliability, and innovation.
The new Xi deck provides broadcast-quality digital video in either single- or dual-channel configurations, with a variety of features that can be custom ordered to meet the demands of individual applications, including:
The Xi features an intuitive front panel touch screen that provides access to record and playback settings including user selectable compression (from 4:1 to 20:1), speed of play, and playlist management.
Xi delivers the advantages of clean digital images and the random-access, non-linear benefits of hard-disk media, as well as the familiar transport controls, inputs, and outputs found on current analog VTRs. The DVR records video as QuickTime™ files for easy transfer and viewing on a PC. The Xi features motion JPEG compression, composite and Y/C I/Os, RS 422 control, two audio channels per video channel, and is compatible with FFV's new Omega-HD deck and the NDT-200.
